Cottage Rules provides a web-based platform for cottage and vacation property owners to create, manage, and share instructions and information with guests and maintenance personnel. The Service includes features such as instruction management, media uploads, seasonal checklists, and sharing capabilities.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and update your account information to keep it accurate and current
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

4.1 Subscription Tiers: Cottage Rules offers different subscription tiers (Lite, Pro) with varying features and limitations. Current pricing and features are displayed on our website.

4.2 Payment: Pro subscription fees are billed annually in advance. All fees are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are non-refundable except as required by law.

4.3 Automatic Renewal: Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

4.4 Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your account will revert to the Lite plan with corresponding limitations.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content: You retain all rights to the content you create, upload, or share through the Service ("User Content"), including instructions, descriptions, and media files.

5.2 License to Us: By uploading User Content, you grant Cottage Rules a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service.

5.3 Content Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have necessary rights to all User Content
• Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights
• Your User Content does not contain illegal, harmful, or offensive material

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Resell or commercialize access to the Service without authorization

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, functionality, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Cottage Rules and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other laws.

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of your data
• Any interruption or cessation of the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code transmitted through the Service

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
